LGBTeach is a resource center for educators working with and for LGBTQIA+ students and their rights. This site was created by an LGBT+ educator with input from LGBT+ students.
Why LGBT+ Education Matters
According to a 2017 Gallup poll, 4.5% of adults in the US identify as LGBT. That's approximately 11.3 million people. The numbers are even higher among youth. The chances are you will have multiple LGBT+ students, coworkers, and families throughout your career as an educator. Dozens of studies have shown that accepting schools make a tremendous difference for LGBT youth.
